Tony Gillet: a man with a passion!
As an achieved motorbike and car pilot, Tony Gillet took part in many races.
His experience with mechanical sports as well as his qualities as an engineer made it
possible for him to make his dream come true and construct his own racing cars.

The highlights of his career could be summarized as follows:

1968 : transformation of a 4 HP Renault for provincial rallies
1975 : first victory in the prototype category with a Viaene
1979 : Belgian champion of hill racing with a Renault-Elf formula 2, ex-Jabouille
1980 : - Belgian champion of hill racing with a Renault-Elf formula 2 and 19 victories
in 19 races. - Winner of the King's cup at the 24 hours of Spa-Francorchamps with a Volkswagen car
1982 : transformation of two Toyota Jeeps for the Paris-Dakar rally
1987 : construction of an aerodynamic Mercedes prototype out of composite material for the Paris-Dakar rally, a car that was afterwards sold to AMG Stutggart
1990 : world speed record, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3,8 seconds with a Donkervoort
1991 : design and production of the first Gillet VERTIGO prototype
1992 : presentation of the Gillet VERTIGO prototype at the Brussels motor show
1994 : - presentation of the homologated and commercialized VERTIGO at the 72th Brussels motor show - world speed record, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3,266 seconds
1999 : the construction of the roof of the Mercedes that was used for the wedding of Prince Philippe of Belgium with Princess Mathilde
2000 : development of a new VERTIGO Streiff model
2001 : creation of the Belgian Racing Team
2002 : presentation of the new VERTIGO Streiff model at the Brussels motor show
2003 : the manufacturing of parts for the worlds largest supplier of industrial presses
2004 : development of coachworks for the Paris-Dakar rally
2005 : Sonaca-realization for the airbus A380 - Le Bourget air show
